Craft Barn's 3rd challenge: Strong

Craft barn has issued its third challenge, which is Strong or Miss.  I chose Strong as my prompt because it was the first good quote I could find that I had collage fodder that would fit.  Granted, I considered Nietzsche's famous quote, "What does not destroy me, makes me strong," but decided I didn't have any collage fodder or even rubber stamps that would make an appropriate spread.  When you have as few stamps as I have, it was easy to eliminate that choice.   Instead, I went for

this quote by J.R.R. Tolkien.  The entire piece is glued to a file folder that was larger than the scanner, so you can't see the "CB3" I wrote on the tab.

I have no idea what was on my scanner (could it be the woman I stamped in red last week?), because those red spots are NOT on my page, or on the woman I fussy cut from a collage sheet I won a few years ago, but never used.

In case you can't read the quote, which is also a poem:

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.”

Now I'm off to link up to the latest Craft Barn challenge, because I don't like being late to the party.  And thanks to all who visited me last week.  It's always fun to meet new friends and continue visiting others I've known for awhile.

  11. The images of nature are quite strong and powerful and the woman's figure nestled in among the winding roots give it nice balance and a feeling of belonging.
    Good going!
